About Başak Yetişen Teker
Senior financial sector specialist with extensive experience in banking regulation, supervision, and financial stability, supporting authorities—particularly in EMDEs—within the Global Team on Financial Resilience and Integrity, to strengthen prudential frameworks in line with global regulatory standards.My work focuses on the design, implementation, and assessment of banking regulatory and supervisory frameworks, including capital adequacy, risk management, recovery and resolution, and macroprudential policy. I have conducted Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) assessments, covering compliance with the both the Basel Core Principles for Effective Banking Supervision (BCP) and the Core Principles for Islamic Finance Regulation (CPIFR). I support financial sector authorities in implementing BCBS and FSB standards through tailored and proportionate regulatory and supervisory frameworks.Together with the IMF, I design and deliver the International Conference on Policy Challenges for the Financial Sector, bringing together central banks and supervisors to discuss how international standards are used to strengthen supervision and respond to emerging financial stability risks.
