ABOUT BARTON GIRDWOOD

Barton Girdwood is a content strategist and showrunner with more than a decade of experience at NPR. He currently serves as the Supervising Producer for NPR’s It’s Been A Minute podcast and the IBAM & Wild Card Radio Hour. During his tenure, Barton has strategically grown IBAM’s listenership by 130% in under a year — breathing new life into the brand.Barton grew up at NPR. Starting as an intern for NPR\'s TED Radio Hour, he went on to develop, launch, and scale some of NPR’s most successful and innovative programs. He was part of the team that created and launched NPR’s premiere daily news podcast, Up First, while simultaneously directing and producing NPR’s flagship broadcast, Morning Edition. He was later tapped to re-design and re-launch The NPR Politics Podcast as a daily podcast at the beginning of the daily-news podcast rush. When he’s not reflecting on the incredible ride it’s been, Barton is probably refreshing a data analytics dashboard, searching for the next big shift in podcasting, media, and multi-platform content production.
