Reports to the Commissioner of the Alabama Medicaid Agency. Medicaid is a $9B agency, which provides coverage to more than 1.3 million aged, blind, disabled, and low-income recipients. Supervises a staff of more than 50 Medicaid Administrators, providers, nurses, epidemiologists, analysts, statisticians, and administrative personnel.• As Deputy Commissioner, leads the Agency’s Managed Care Operations Division, Networks Division, Physicians and Dental Division, Data Analytics Division, and Office of the Associate Medical Director.o Oversees the Alabama Coordinated Health Network (ACHN), a state-wide $70M Primary Care Case Management Entity (PCCM-E) which provides care coordination services to more than 1 million Medicaid recipients.o Directs Managed Care Operations, a $100M Division which provides support to the ACHN by providing nurse chart audits for care coordination and support for all provider issues. The Division is also responsible for the Plan First/Family Planning program, maternity program, Nurse-Family Partnership, and Remote Patient Monitoring services. o Leads the Physicians and Dental programs, a $900M Division which is responsible for physician, dental, EPSDT, and other practitioner services covering more than 1.1 million Medicaid recipients.o Oversees the function of the Office of Associate Medical Director, which provides prior authorization and utilization review services for the Agency.
