Barry is a Technical Director with RPS, he specialises in fire safety engineering and has over 37 years’ experience. Barry was responsible for developing the RPS Fire Engineering Consultancy Service in the 1990\'s and now heads up the delivery of this service across the RPS Group. He is a lecturer (part-time) at the University of Ulster in Fire Engineering and advisor to several Building Control Authorities on Fire Safety matters. He has been a guest speaker at conferences and seminars on Fire Engineering and is the author of fire-safety related papers. He has provided advice on fire safety engineering throughout UK and Ireland in all sectors of the built environment including offices, leisure, high rise residential buildings, educational premises, industrial and warehouse buildings, rail depots and energy from waste facilities. Barry is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers, Engineers Ireland and Institution of Structural Engineers. He is also a corporate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
