Since joining the State Journal in 2001 my beats have included crime and courts, fire departments, the Madison suburbs and general assignment reporting. Since 2006, I\'ve worked on the business desk where my beats have included retail, hotels, breweries and wineries, small businesses and tourism. In 2010, I also began writing the weekly On Wisconsin column that anchors the Local section each Sunday. The column takes me around the state covering interesting people, places and things. In addition, since 2013 I have been producing videos that accompany my written stories. Some are produced on an iPhone using iMovie but the majority are produced on a PC using Adobe Premiere editing software.
