ABOUT LAUREN BARNES

With over 10 years of extensive experience in VFX production, I have traversed various roles within the industry, ranging from coordinating almost all departments to Show Production Management where I was quickly promoted to Producer working on Ridley Scott\'s Raised by Wolves. I then made the move into Central Production Management, managing departments and resourcing! These transitions have equipped me with incredible overall knowledge of the industry as well as the technical knowledge across departments fostering a deep understanding of the VFX process – where I had the best compliment of a coworker wondering if I was a CG supervisor! I have learned from many great studios in this industry within Canada as well as overseas. From MPC to DNEG to WetaFX, in each endeavour, I embraced the ethos of continuous learning, asking questions, and acknowledging the ever-evolving nature of our craft.I take pride in being an integral part of teams that have contributed to the creation of cinematic magic in projects such as The Avengers: Infinity War, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part2, Dune: Part 2, The Last of Us, Midnight Mass, Stranger Things, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Godzilla x Kong, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, The Umbrella Academy, and NYAD, to name a few (notably, my proficiency in handling monster assets and projects has been a consistent theme throughout my career).Driven by a quick-thinking mindset and impeccable problem-solving skills, I thrive in navigating the complexities of VFX production in management and producing roles. My hands-on approach to learning enables me to forecast resources, establish and uphold project schedules, and effectively lead creative teams. By leveraging my organizational skills, I optimize resource utilization, ensure project delivery, and maximize profitability.Beyond professional competencies, I bring a kind, positive, and empathetic demeanor to the studios I collaborate with.
