I\'m a technology leader and video streaming expert with a passion for bringing modern SaaS technologies to bear against VOD and live media streaming problems.Currently, I lead Media Core Engineering at WBD, providing the video encoding and packaging platform that powers some of the most iconic names in sports, news, and entertainment. I\'ve spent more than a decade working on live and on-demand media encoding, packaging, delivery, security, and related technologies for some of the highest profile services, brands, and events in the US and the world.Previously, I managed the Media Platform engineering team at Twitter. We made the services that let you watch live sports, news, and entertainment on Twitter, as well as the services that let you tweet GIF\'s, images, and videos. Before that, I managed video encoding for Amazon Video, where I launched such cool stuff as scalable cloud transcode, video for the Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire TV, adaptive bitrate streaming (with Smooth Streaming, MPEG-DASH, and HTTP Live Streaming), UHD streaming, and the world\'s first HDR streaming service. I started my career at Microsoft on High Performance Computing stuff.
