ABOUT BARLOW WAGNER

Barlow is a Biomedical Informatics M.S. student at The Ohio State University College of Public Health with a B.S. in Biology from Denison University. He has contributed to several federally funded project teams, including those supported by the National Science Foundation, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. His current research focuses on social determinants of health and how they can be identified in clinical notes using large language models and geospatially mapped to depict their association with polysubtance overdose mortality using spatial scan statistics. He also serves as an executive member of the Central Ohio HIV Prevention Alliance and interns at the Ohio Department of Health within the Bureau of Environmental Health and Radiation Protection.
