It was activated by a resolution of the City of Atlanta Council and currently operates as a public body corporate and politic and instrumentality of the State of Georgia. Invest Atlanta was established to promote the revitalization and growth of the City and serves as the City’s redevelopment agency pursuant to the Redevelopment Powers Law, for the purpose of implementing redevelopment initiatives within the City’s ten tax allocation districts.
