About Barbara Silberman

Barbara Silberman is a nationally known museum professional and non-profit consultant, with expertise in all areas of programming and operations. She is a creative thinker who employs practical and realistic solutions to long-standing organizational problems. She founded and directed a program for history and historic preservation at the Pew Charitable Trusts, directing a multi-million dollar grant program for historic sites and museums. She has written extensively on the future of historic properties and their sustainability. Silberman is an experienced fundraiser and enjoys working with boards of directors to fulfill organizational missions. Barbara holds a BA in American History from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and an MHA from The George Washington University. She completed graduate coursework in non-profit financial management, strategic planning and business administration at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Currently she is taking history courses at Harvard University\'s Extension School. Recently she completed a course in climate control for museums and historic preservation sites.
