ABOUT BARBAROS KARAAHMET
BK started his career at Herrick, 30 years ago in international art litigation matters representing a sovereign government in recovering smuggled antiquities. He then switched to corporate practice and built his commercial, corporate practice. After running his own practice for 10 years with two other partners, he came back to Herrick and focused on corporate and real estate matters. BK is the point person on the Republic of Turkey\'s largest real estate development project outside of Turkey; the New York Consulate General\'s Tower across from the UN. In addition being the Chief Operating Partner of Herrick, BK assists international companies in establishing their U.S. operations, and frequently serves as their U.S. based general counsel. BK also advises multinational companies with respect to mergers and acquisitions and joint-ventures in international markets. His experience includes cross-border transactions for multinational clients in a wide range of sectors including banking, finance, luxury goods, fashion, healthcare, food and beverage, hospitality, real estate, media and e-commerce.
