Barbara Santos graduated Summa Cum Laude from Binghamton University with a BS in Integrative Neuroscience. In her senior year, she was immersed in completing an Honors Thesis under the guidance of Dr. Terrence Deak, leading an independent research project to delve deeper into her academic interests, thereby culminating her undergraduate research journey. In addition to her academic pursuits, Barbara actively contributed to the Binghamton University community. She served as a mentor in Residential Life, providing valuable guidance to incoming and returning students as they navigate their college journeys. Barbara\'s dedication to mentoring also extended to her role with TRIO, where she offered her expertise to support and empower fellow students.Barbara\'s commitment to serving her community extends beyond campus. During her growth year, Barbara worked full-time as an EMT and became a Field Training Officer at Superior Ambulance. She also obtained her Advanced-EMT certification. Barbara is currently an MS1 at Upstate Medical University, and is a per-diem AEMT at Waves/Minoa Ambulance.Barbara was raised in Brazil and moved to New York during her freshman year of high school. Her multicultural background has instilled in her a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and inclusion. She is committed to fostering these values in all aspects of her life, seeking to continually develop her skills and gain diverse experiences to become a well-rounded individual both in her personal and professional life.
