About Barbara Perlov

A strategic thinker, excellent writer, and experienced interpreter/translator of an organization’s work, my thirty years of experience in non-profit administration and development has yielded millions of dollars for my employers and clients. These include organizations as diverse as LaGuardia Community College, Museum of the Moving Image, International Center of Photography, Literacy Partners, Newark Public Radio, Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, Harlem Stage, Service Women’s Action Network, Irish Arts Center, Inwood Academy for Leadership Charter School, and ArtsConnection, where I served as Deputy Director for Development for twelve years before launching my consultancy in 2006. Most recently, I served as Director of Foundation and Government Relations for the Boys\' Club of New York, which has positively impacted the lives of over one million boys and young men since its founding in 1876. My particular expertise is in institutional fundraising, building relationships with foundations and corporate funders, and facilitating many successful applications to city, state, and federal agencies, including securing major funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the U.S. Department of Education. With knowledge and experience of organizational culture as both a senior executive and a consultant, I am able to assess any and all development and communication needs to help support organizations and move them forward institutionally.
