Serve as a liaison between the Head/Assistant Heads of School and department members. Guide the World Language Team (K-12 Spanish and Mandarin Chinese teachers) in the creation of department SMART goals and maintain focus on them throughout the year through meetings, progress monitoring, and adjusting course when needed. Run planning meetings. Coordinate with PTSO for events and needs for K-12.Contribute to creating a cohesive K-10 curriculum scope and sequence Assist department in backward planning the year, reference the Lab curriculum map/pacing guides, continuums and Common Core standards using student-friendly daily objectives.Facilitate the creation of the department curriculum guide-Develops Lab\'s vision and goals for bilingual education-Provides feedback and coaching to K-12 world language teachers regarding best practices in bilingual & immersion learning-Leads team in the conception and development of student, family, and parent events that support and promote bilingualism-Identify and pursue (in alignment/coordination with development team) grant opportunities to support Lab\'s blingual education programmingCraft and implement culturally responsive curriculum and instruction with an interdisciplinary approach (Social Studies- Spanish Language Arts). Assist scholars in achieving competency in the second language in all communicative skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) in a gratifying way and motivate them to gain a greater understanding and appreciation for Spanish and other cultures.Other key duties involve actively participating in professional development opportunities and providing training to the World Language Department. Plan and coordinate our annual Multicultural Night event, and encourage parental involvement and partnerships to maximize student success. Other responsibilities include but are not limited the administration of assessments such EOG, MAP, and AVANT STAMP.
