Occupational Therapist at three adult day health care centers (ADHC): ABC Therapy Center (Alhambra) Emerald Health Services (City of Industry) Lotus Blossom Therapy Center (Montebello)Occupational therapy in the adult day health care setting helps seniors overcome multiple disablements associated with aging using a functional approach. Intervention promotes independence, adaptation, and the maintenance of occupational performance in self-care, work, and leisure. Working collaboratively with the participant, and family or care giver, occupational therapists use their expertise to analyze activities, facilitate problem solving and address impairments that affect their function. Some of my duties include: Performing screening, evaluations and creating a plan of care for functional and upper extremity needs in individuals 65+; implementing maintenance therapy and skilled rehabilitation to enhance independent living, safety, improve ROM, UE function and reduce pain; supervising rehab aides for treatments to address client and participant needs.
