ABOUT BARBARA YANKIE

Barb Yankie is the Founder of Green Building Consulting. Barb has been a significant voice in the Energy Efficiency and Green Industry throughout the Midwest and beyond. As a member of the RESNET National Board of Directors (20••••16), member of Building Performance Industry (BPI) Technical Advisory Committee, and a multi-year National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Judge for the Energy Value Housing Award and Builder of the Year Award, among other positions, Barb has contributed her knowledge and expertise to many areas of this community. In 2023, RESNET announced Barb as a member of its inaugural class of RESNET Recognition of Women Pioneers in the HERS® Industry. She has also been recognized “for her contributions to greening homes around the country … and countless other advocacy efforts” by being named 2014 Green Person of the Year by the USGBC SW Ohio Regional Chapter.With over 20 years experience in construction, real estate, energy efficiency, and sustainability, as well as over 35 years experience in training, Barb is a frequent consultant, trainer, and presenter for multiple types of clients and organizations. She has served on the RESNET Infrared Scanning Standard Task Force, the RESNET Strategic Positioning Task Force, the RESNET Infrared Standard Drafting Committee, and the RESNET Green Rater Certification Task Force. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the USGBC SW Ohio Regional Chapter and as a contributing member of the Residential Green Building sub-committee for the chapter.
