About Barbara Passero

I have developed public information programs in the fields of education, environment, and science since being employed as Information Center Manager for the MIT Sea Grant College Program. As publications editor for Massachusetts Marine Educators, I was immersed in ocean science education. Now, as director of Meadowscaping for Biodiversity, I develop environmental education programs. We work with schools, business, and environmental groups to deliver programs that empower children and adults to be eco-heroes and stewards of the Earth.

   Our flagship summer vacation program, the Youth Environmental Entrepreneurship Program (YEEP), is an opportunity for teens age 15-19 to work six-to-eight weeks outdoors learning about nature-based solutions to biodiversity, the value of native plants, and how to run a business planning and planting ecosystems gardens and meadows for customers. Teens learn that backyards, schoolyards, corporate lawns, churchyards, etc, planted with native plants provide habitat for essential wildlife.
