About Barbara Knight

My curiosity regarding exploring other cultures either within the United States or abroad started at a young age. This desire to embrace and understand how people interact as well as develop ultimately led to a Human Resource career path.Whether I was recruiting great talent, creating and implementing successful training programs, addressing employee relations concerns, and ultimately being responsible for managing and developing an HR Team who supported stores, I was able to continuously excel and achieve results.Fast forward to the past five years I have switched gears and have had the fortunate opportunity to work as an outdoor educator working with kids from preschool to high school. The non-profit organizations I work for seek partnerships with title one schools or other organizations with youth programs for students who may be at risk. The programs we incorporate provide educational experiences that encourage curiosity, as well as participation in hands-on activities resulting in personal growth and collaboration with others.I am a big proponent of feedback and continue to have positive feedback from individuals I have developed and managed as well as students who experienced the “best school day ever”! Being able to connect with and guide people towards a positive career or life path is what brings me joy.
