ABOUT BARBARA KEENAN

I am a passionate and motivated Operational Director of Childrens Services with 18 years service at Action for Children. My core specialism is overseeing the delivery of high quality, outcomes based residential care and residential short breaks services where children and young people feel loved and reach their full potential, despite significant adverse life experiences and physical or emotional wellbeing barriers.I have proven experience of managing high quality community based services, supporting children and families experiencing social isolation and poverty and evidencing positive impact.I am a strong leader with a focus on developing resilient, motivated and effective teams who deliver a high quality of care, meet all regulatory requirements and keep the Promise. I promote a culture of support and empowerment where staff are valued and respected. I have significant experience of quality assurance, change management, service development, budget management and HR processes including being a long standing investigating manager, and actioning performance management and performance improvement processes.I have experience of training delivery and am confident in public speaking, having delivered workshops at several large conferences in the residential care sector.
