Notable projects include: rolling out a global contract management system to enable efficient contract reviews and improve transparency for internal clients; creating an ESG framework with the executive team to analyze and make decisions on environmental, social, and governance issues; serving on the Security Governance Committee to oversee security and privacy programs at Brooks; acquiring new trademark rights in foreign jurisdictions to enable global growth; revamping the innovation team\'s intellectual property objectives and deliverables; co-leading the DEI book club as a member of the Diversity Working Group and facilitating weekly discussions on writings by MLK, Isabel Wilkerson and others. Before joining Brooks, Barbara worked in-house at Nordstrom for nine years and focused on intellectual property, consumer class actions, and compliance issues. Prior to Nordstrom, she practiced general litigation at Olympic Law Group. She graduated with honors from Seattle University Law School after serving as full-time judicial extern to Justice Mary Fairhurst on the Washington State Supreme Court during her final semester of law school. Before law school, she worked as a Technical Writer at two Seattle software companies. Barbara currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Hamlin Robinson School, a NWAIS-accredited independent school in Seattle.
