About Barbara Anne Harper
I am a recent graduate from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and chemistry on the pre-med track. I have 500+ hours of experience working as an undergraduate research assistant in the Makowski Lab at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where I manage mouse colonies, perform PCR, and collect mouse tissue samples. I also have experience working as a clinical assistant at a pediatric practice in Memphis and gained the skills of performing vitals and digitizing patient records, including test results, medications, and patient history. I At Rhodes College, I have worked as a Student Associate for the Athletic Department, serving as director of Intramural Sports. In that position, I act as head referee during various sporting events and create schedules for upcoming sports. Additionally, I am an involved member of Kappa Delta Sorority and hold several leadership positions involving the planning and execution of events such as formals, sisterhood events, and recruitment. I have extensive experience working with children from my involvement with Girl Scouts of America and Snowden Elementary School in Memphis, Tennessee. I have also worked with kids at the YMCA and my local recreational soccer club in my hometown, Sarasota, Florida. I have some experience in the medical field from shadowing in orthopedics.
