Experience
Senior Staff Software Engineer, Loans Platform
Oct 2023 — Present
As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at SoFi, my main focus has been two-fold. I lead the technical effort to migrate student loan servicing from one provider to another while simultaneously building a debt/loan agnostic servicing system that has the future ability to service any debt type (personal, student, home, etc.). At this stage, we have deployed the new Servicing Platform with student loans and are actively migrating them to the new platform, at the same time I am leading the effort to move personal loans to the new platform.Tech: Kotlin, gRPC, Snowflake, Postgres- Lead the architecture, design and development of a unified API using gRPC and debt agnostic platform while simultaneously onboarding a new student loan servicer and migrating off of the existing servicer. This involved constantly analyzing trade offs to make decisions that would have immediate impact but not alter the bigger vision for the Servicing Platform- Designed and developed two of the ten services that make up the key architecture for the Servicing Platform- Managed and coordinated the effort to deprecate old API of debt related data to the new unified API - this involved communication and coordination with ~10 other internal teams to understand their use of the legacy API to make sure they migrated over with no impact to their downstream consumers- Developing system design and test plan to rearchitect existing personal loan batching framework into new Servicing Platform
