Responsible for overseeing and managing a team of data analysts both senior and junior in the monthly delivery of data to Actuaries for their reserving exercises.• Ensuring relevant data controls are in place to measure data quality, i.e. accuracy, completeness and consistency of the data.• Partnering with Project Managers, Business Analysts and Solutions Architects to establish new processes and develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives.• Building and maintaining strong productive working relationships with stakeholders, i.e. Actuarial, Claims, Finance and Underwriters, to ensure service delivery meets business needs. • Interrogating databases using SQL to provide information, analysis and insight as needed in support of business discussions or to solve complex data problems.• Analysing large volumes of Insurance data to answer regulatory inquiries using SQL.• Monitoring and capturing data issues (defects) in JIRA and driving forward processes for their resolution.• Designing and developing functional and technical reconciliations across source systems, data warehouses and downstream business systems. • Conducting Business analysis and requirements gathering. Translating business requirements into technical requirements.• Developing awareness of data across the business in order to ensure the highest standards of compliance. This includes highlighting Data Quality issues & Data Governance best practice.• Developing UAT plans and schedules. Conducting UAT; Coding, testing, and documenting new or modified data systems to create robust and scalable applications.• Mentoring junior staff members; providing work direction, setting up development plans, helping to improve soft skills and provide training on SQL.
