ABOUT BALDEV SINGH

From Circuits to Control Rooms – My Journey in Engineering Embedded Systems | Electrical & Instrumentation | Industrial Automation It didn’t start with passion—it started with pressure. Like many, I entered engineering just to pass a course, not to chase a dream. That changed when I built my first inverter–converter circuit in college. A minor electric shock while testing it didn’t scare me—it made me curious: Why did that happen? How does this work? How can I make it safer? That moment sparked my interest in systems thinking—understanding how electricity flows, how machines behave, and how design decisions affect safety, performance, and reliability. What began with Arduino boards and classroom circuits evolved into full-scale projects in embedded systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation. I’ve worked in research labs, petrochemical plants, and control rooms. Most recently, I completed my Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering in Canada, continuing to build both theoretical and hands-on skills. From coding IoT-based prototypes to wiring high-voltage panels and calibrating smart transmitters, I’m drawn to the space where physical systems meet intelligent control. Key Technical Achievements- Consistently recognized for meticulous attention to detail and high-quality workmanship, delivering precision wiring and assembly that ensures reliable and efficient electrical systems through strong technical expertise- Maintained 98% uptime for 150+ smart transmitters across 25+ process units using ISO-compliant maintenance - Developed IoT-based prototypes with 100% remote data access using MQTT and cloud platforms - Automated image inspections using Python and OpenCV during embedded hardware testing (For specific projects in electrical design, instrumentation, and automation, please see the Projects section.) What Drives Me Every system I touch, I strive to make more efficient and dependable. Whether in a panel room, modeling a circuit, or programming a safety PLC, I focus on engineering that’s smart, safe, and scalable. Let’s Connect If you’re working on electrical systems that need to be safer, smarter, and faster—I’d love to connect. I’m open to roles in electrical design, instrumentation, or automation across Ontario or with remote-first Canadian teams. Email: b••••••••@gmail.com Location: Ontario, Canada
