A Teacher-learner forever.Dr. Balakrishnan C is an Associate Professor of Computer Science, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore Yeshwanthpur Campus, India, since Aug. In addition, he serves as the PG Placement Coordinator and IQAC Coordinator for the Department. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor, Alagappa Institute of Skill Development, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu (Oct. 2014 – Jul. 2022) and at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli (Sep. 2005 – Sep. 2014).With 20+ years of experience in teaching and research in Computer Science, including 8 years in Vocational/Skill Education, made significant contributions to his field. He holds a Master\'s in Computer Science from St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), and a PhD from Jamal Mohamed College (Autonomous), Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. He also cleared both National Eligibility Test (NET) and State Eligibility Test (SET-TN) in 2012.Dr. Balakrishnan is currently the Project Coordinator for an ICSSR funded Research Programme (Grant: Rs. 46.06 Lakhs) titled ‘Digitalising Chettinad Architecture and Cultural Heritage in Tamil Nadu for Sustainable Knowledge Management: An Empirical Analysis\'(20••••26). He is also the Principal Investigator for a seed-grant project and Co-PI for another, both funded by CHRIST University (20••••26), each with a grant of Rs. 2 Lakhs. Previously, he served as Co-Investigator for a UGC Minor Research Project (Grant: Rs. 2.83 Lakhs) 20••••16 and contributed to various Department Projects funded by RUSA 2.0 and UGC STRIDE, notably, he assisted in establishing the Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Career Hub (EIC Hub) under RUSA 2.0 for Rs. 15 Cr at Alagappa University.He leads a research group on Vision-Language Modeling (VLM)He has published and presented 50+ articles, with more than 10 indexed in SCOPUS/WOS/E-SCI databases. He has authored 5 books and numerous chapters. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the upcoming edited book ‘Internet of Medical Things: Case Studies and Applications in Healthcare,’ to be published by CRC Press, USA. Additionally, he holds 4 Indian patents (2 general / 2 design) and 1 German utility patent.He is a trained Innovation Ambassador (Advanced level) by the MoE Innovation Cell (MIC). He has extensive experience in IQAC activities at both the college and university levels. He has been a core committee member in preparing SSR, Criterion-wise Reports/Presentations for NAAC Cycles 2 & 3.His research interests include VLM, VR/AR, AI/ML, IoT, and Relational/NoSQL DB Systems
