ABOUT BALAJI KANNAN

With over two decades of professional experience, I currently serve as the Director of Cloud DevOps, Operations & SRE at Informatica, where I particularly focus on optimizing cloud operations, reducing toil, building deployment methods with CD standardization and innovation. Passionate about automation, Self service, serverless & humanless capabilities and tooling for better operations experience and Developer experience. I incorporate platform engineering principles to enable seamless self-service cloud capabilities. My mission is to drive operational excellence and foster scalable solutions. I get excited in solving problems especially slow delivery problem(slow code to Prod), Tooling sprawl, Toil, uncontrolled cost spend, blind spots, inconsistencies across multiple products in a company. I have proven record of spear heading mulitiple major migrations without production incident across multiple products. At Informatica, I built and lead high-performing cloud Devops teams, recently brought all Informatica Cloud products into one single Deployment methods not limited to moving every products into ArgoCD Gitops, normalizing environment configurations, introducing versioning in service configs, istio with envoy across all microservices, operability consistency across products, moving CD from Jenkins, spinnakers, custom scripts into Harness by parterning with multiple operation teams of 150+ operartions engineers, VMs to Kubernetization, building reusuable pipeline templates.I have proven track record of transformational efforts especially in building tools and bringing DEV,QA and Operations into single pane on both observability and deployment. My contributions are centered on transformations, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement towards efficiency across the organization.
