In my erstwhile role as the Interim Head of Credit Analysis Unit (CAU) at HSBC GCC, led the function with collaborative and inspirational leadership which enabled in delivering strategic priorities. Equally ensured well-being of the team during the challenging phase of Covid-19. Moreover, in a resource-constrained environment, as a team we delivered more with less. Steered a team of around 260 credit professionals in India, China, and Malaysia catering to stakeholders in 24 countries. Across years, redesigned processes, configured innovation initiatives, and facilitated transformation projects. As Head of FI Risk at Al Rajhi Bank, managed a well-diversified portfolio of around 270 FIG clients spread across 52 countries with approved credit limit of about US$ 15 billion generating optimal returns and nil credit loss. Articulated and managed the risk appetite, shaped portfolio composition, convinced business groups on the ideal exposure limits and maintained a well-diversified loan and investment book. Undertook measures to promote business growth and concomitantly mitigate risk exposures. One of the founding team members of Global Research Centre, HSBC GSC. Managed aspirations of the team, enhanced engagement levels, channelled their potential, and enabled growth of the Global Research Centre. At CRISIL, conducted rating assignments of multifaceted companies across financial, infrastructure, and manufacturing sectors. Developed rating methodology for life and non-life insurers. Played a pivotal role in launching MICROS, a research publication for constituents in the microfinance sector. Besides, undertook advisory projects that entailed articulating business strategy, drawing up business plan and valuing enterprises. Some of the advisory projects translated into tangible outcomes – (1) An NBFI converted itself into a renowned commercial bank,(2) A financial services group ventured into housing finance by forming a new subsidiary. Received awards for best mentoring and excellence in analysis for topical and thematic reports.
