About Bryan Baker

I have worked with 40+ hospitals and several hundred clinics in various stages on the implementation and support lifecycles projects with EPIC software modules with several healthcare organizations across the United States. I previously worked with hardware during the deployment and support of thin clients, desktops, and testing of them during Technical Dress Rehearsals. My work passions are establishing process improvement, leadership, and mentoring. Whether it’s being a Testing Lead to catch bugs and validate testing objectives, a Patient Cutover Lead communicating preparation and progress updates, or even mentoring younger staff about inner working of EPIC, being able to see both the software and hardware considerations allows me to see deeper into potential impacts of build and changes. I have also been involved in several change advisory boards related to EPIC implementation and support providing key perspective on requests. No matter what role I take, there’s joy in building and improving teams around me. It is what inspired me to pursue project management roles in the first place!What does this mean for your organization? I love helping coordinate from separate teams to maximize mutual understanding of the overarching systems that make up a fully functional medical record system. Via effective communication with stakeholders, including with operational, technical and project management from clinics, hospitals, desktop deployment, construction managers, third party vendors and business analysts I know how to break down silos and reduce miscommunication. The goal is to reduce last minute changes and better anticipation of those changes for smooth deployment and ongoing support. I am also involved in standardization and training efforts to improve consistency, detailed documentation, and reduce redundant requests for help to improve end user acceptance. Outside of work, I have previously volunteered on nonprofit boards to enhance their processes for young professional groups in Louisville and Nashville. I have organized strategic transition documents and processes as members rolled on and off those boards. A former 40 Under 40 nominee in Louisville, I was awarded Most Outstanding Young Professional awards twice during my service for those efforts. I love connecting people to resources to grow professionally and personally including people new to town. I enjoy watching comedy specials, game shows, and sports with my wife and our two Norwich terrier dogs along with playing tennis and golf.
