Key Responsibilities:Strategy & Leadership:Define and own the enterprise monitoring and observability roadmap.Establish and enforce best practices for monitoring, logging, tracing, event correlation, and telemetry.Drive the adoption of modern observability tools (APM, infrastructure monitoring, log aggregation, tracing, real-user monitoring, synthetics, etc.).Partner with infrastructure, development, DevOps, and SRE teams to embed observability into system design.Platform Ownership:Lead the architecture, deployment, and management of enterprise monitoring and observability platforms (e.g, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Elastic Stack, OpenTelemetry).Oversee platform performance, scalability, and resilience.Manage onboarding, integrations, and data standardization across environments (cloud, hybrid, on-prem).Incident Response & Analytics:Improve Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Restore (MTTR) by implementing intelligent alerting, event correlation, and automated root cause analysis (RCA).Implement proactive monitoring and predictive analytics using telemetry and historical trends.Team Development:Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of monitoring and observability engineers.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and innovation.Governance & Reporting:Establish SLIs, SLOs, and KPIs to measure service health and platform performance.Provide regular reporting to leadership on system observability maturity and incident trends.
