ABOUT ALI BAHRAMI
With 5+ years of experience in the data realm, I specialize in designing and implementing data lakehouses and warehouses, creating robust ETL pipelines, and transforming raw data into actionable insights, be it stream or batch-processed data. Leveraging my expertise in Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Python, Apache Spark, SQL, and Power BI, I deliver scalable, reliable, and end-to-end data solutions for organizations of all sizes.I developed a passion for architecture and design through games like Legos, Stronghold Crusader, Chess, and Clash of Clans. Today, I channel that same enthusiasm into building robust data architectures, turning imaginative problem-solving into real-world solutions. I have an extensive background in teaching human (Persian, English, Hindi, Arabic and Mandarin) and programming languages, which has enabled me to break down complex tech and data concepts to a non-technical audience in plain English. I am aspiring to use my passion for teaching to train computers to do human tasks (aka machine learning). I can crunch your numbers and I can also tell you a good story.I started my schooling in a refugee camp in Pakistan. The US presence in Afghanistan inspired me to get a scholarship to an international school in Bangkok where I found myself sitting in an English class for the first time in my life. I then went to New York University’s newly opened satellite campus in Abu Dhabi and its Stern School of Business in New York, where I studied Economics and Finance. Finally, I chose Vancouver, Canada to settle down in and am currently employed in one of Canada’s leading natural resource companies with Trans-Atlantic operations. When I am not cleaning data, you can find me exploring the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, playing chess, hoarding maps, or reading colonial and post-colonial literature.
