WORK HISTORY
Structural Engineer @AI Engineers, Inc.
Structural analysis of Rigid Aluminum Buswork and Steel Support Structures of Electrical Substation to check the compliance of current code criteria and check structure’s strength adequacy to support increased short circuit load using RISA-3D and MathCAD as per Standard, Northeast Utilities (NU’s) Standard, NESC 2007, and ASCE 113. The wind load and ice load were calculated as per ASCE 7-05 and CT building code. The systems were modeled as Single Degree of Freedom (SDOF) Systems with response to harmonic excitation for dynamic analysis-Structural analysis of electrical transmission line structures such as single circuit or double circuit steel lattice tower and steel mono pole by using PLS Tower and PLS Pole. Analysis and evaluation of primary steel members as well as secondary steel braces by ASD method and check for the serviceability and strength adequacy as per ASCE-10, ANSI/EIA/TIA (Revisions F and G-1)-Inspection of steel lattice tower and steel pole carrying high voltage transmission line, underground cable splice vault, light pole and mast arm-Rehabilitation design of bridge as per AASHTO LRFD and CT Bridge Design Manual. Activities included design of bearing for bearing replacement, design of Keeper Block, Bolted Splice design for retrofit of deteriorated girder, and load rating-Structural analysis and Load Rating of various types of highway bridges and culverts as per AASHTO MBE, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification, AASHTO Standard Specifications for Highway Bridges and State DOT’s requirements using MathCAD, Staad Pro, AASHTOWare’s Virtis, BRASS, MDX, & DESCUS I-Review shop drawing provided by the contractor and steel fabricator to ensure conformance with design drawings and applicable standards-NBIS inspection of highway bridges and sign structures in the state of Connecticut for Department of Connecticut as an assistant team leader. Prepare inspection report as per CT inspection manual and DOT requirement.
