ABOUT BABY RANI MAHATO

I am Baby Rani Mahato, a postgraduate student currently pursuing a Master of Social Work (Children and Families) at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. Hailing from Harudih village in Chandil block, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, I come from a humble background that has shaped my commitment to social justice and inclusive development.With a strong academic foundation in Geography from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), my journey has been deeply rooted in community engagement and grassroots development. From being recognized as the Best Monitor in school to actively volunteering with the National Service Scheme (NSS), my early experiences nurtured a sense of responsibility towards underprivileged sections of society.My professional experiences include working with NGOs such as Masoom Muskan, Gandhi Seva Sangh, and Rozgar Dhaba, where I contributed to child welfare, youth employment awareness, and community education. These engagements allowed me to understand rural realities closely, especially the challenges faced by children, women, tribal youth, and persons with disabilities.
