ABOUT MARC BAADEN

I’m a computational chemist who believes science gets more interesting when you mix curiosity, code, and a good dose of mindful optimization. My work spans modeling biological systems at the molecular and atomic level—think everything from virtual reality protein adventures to hands-on software like Amber, Gromacs, Yasara, NAMD, HyperBalls, and UnityMol. But it’s not just about algorithms and atoms. I thrive at the intersection of theory and practical lab applications, building tools that help researchers say, “I wish there was a way to…” and then making it happen. Whether it’s collaborating with experimentalists, designing immersive visualization solutions, or troubleshooting the quirks of scientific big data, I’m here to bridge gaps (and occasionally break a few rules). Alongside research, I’m passionate about science consulting and mindful life optimization. I offer coaching, workshops, and advice rooted in behavioral science—because better habits make for better discoveries. Specialties: Scientific software development, computational infrastructure, molecular modeling, virtual reality, and making science just a bit more fun and accessible.
