Matthew Hornor is an international dealmaker and mining executive with a 25-year track record leading multibillion-dollar projects across Asia, Africa and North America.He currently serves as CEO of Falcon Copper, where he’s advancing one of the largest copper-dominant exploration portfolios in the American West and leading efforts to establish a new downstream processing facility in the Southwest. His work directly supports U.S. and allied goals for energy security, supply chain resilience, and industrial re-shoring.A fluent Japanese speaker and trained lawyer, Matthew has negotiated cross-border partnerships with Japanese government agencies, trading houses, and engineering firms, building alliances that align global capital with American industrial resilience.Before founding Falcon Copper, Matthew served as CEO of Maple Gold Mines, where he led exploration-stage growth and corporate development forming a company making strategic alliance with Agnico Eagle, the world’s second largest gold producer. He was also instrumental in scaling Ivanhoe Mines into a globally recognized polymetallic producer at its Platreef project in South Africa after forming an alliance with a Japanese consortium led by Itochu Corporation, Japan’s largest trading house.Passionate about American reindustrialization, Matthew is an advocate for reshoring capacity, rebuilding critical mineral supply chains, and forging public-private partnerships that create long-term value on U.S. soil.Outside of the boardroom, he mentors young leaders and enjoys traveling with his wife and kids, playing golf and tuning his skills in the kitchen.
