ABOUT B. CHANDU NAYAK

Geotechnical Engineer with over 5 years of professional experience in India and international projects, delivering detailed designs for large-scale infrastructure including High-Speed Rail (NHRCL), Metros, Railways, NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) projects, Highways (NHAI), Power Houses (NHPC), Nuclear Plants (NPCIL), and Ports. I hold an M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering from NIT Agartala. I have expertise in detailed foundation design and recommendations for bridges, flyovers, ROBs, metros, bullet trains, and more — covering shallow foundations, pile foundations, well foundations, and rock-socketed piles in both soil and rock. I also has experience in the design and detailing of earth-retaining structures such as soil nails, ground anchors, RE walls, anchored pile walls, and continuous pile walls, along with preparing detailed slope stability analysis reports. My skills include settlement analysis, liquefaction assessment, and ground improvement methods such as stone columns and PVDs. I has a good experience in design of deep excavations and landslides mitigation using, soil nails and rock anchors through FEM-based software, as well as slope stability analysis of embankment using tools like Slope-W. In addition to technical design, I am proficient in interpreting SPT, CPT, and laboratory test data to determine design parameters; reviewing NDT results (PIT, CSL, and dynamic tests); evaluating pile and anchor load tests; preparing BOQ estimations; and reviewing instrumentation data from piezometers, inclinometers, and load cells. I am proficient in software including Plaxis 2D/3D, Slope/W, L-Pile, Slide, Settle3, Core-GS, CPeT-IT, CLiq, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, and Abaqus. I work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, economical, and practical solutions, ensuring that designs meet both technical requirements and site-specific challenges.
