About Azhir Barodawala
I’m eager to translate my passion for energy, sustainability and the environment into developing real world projects that improves lives. At Cornell University, I am combining my chemical engineering background with a specialised knowledge in Energy encompassing the engineering, economic and policy aspects of the Energy Industry. Taking courses in optimisation and sustainable water treatment has improved my understanding of the energy-water nexus and taught me how to make the best use of the energy we have today.Always wanting to learn more, I spent the summers of my undergraduate degree patenting a process that integrates power generation with wastewater treatment, synthesizing catalysts for Fuel Cells and designing equipment for a global Oil & Energy EPC company. During the semester, I spent my free time coordinating and participating in various inter-college technical events and also coordinated India’s largest MUN conference. My contribution to the Chemical Engineering department along with being in the top 5% of my class earned me the award of Department Ambassador in my senior year. I believe that renewable energy is one of the most exciting sectors to be in right now and it’s a step forward in the right direction towards a better future. I hope to build and dedicate my career to renewable energy as it has the potential to change the lives of millions of people.
