During my work experience, I gained exposure to the powertrain development process within a global automotive R&D environment. I observed and supported engineers in the engine control unit (ECU) team, developing an understanding of how calibration, testing, and diagnostics contribute to overall vehicle performance and compliance. I also gained first-hand knowledge of emission testing procedures, exploring how regulatory standards influence engine design and validation.In addition, I was introduced to the principles of lifecycle assessment (LCA), learning how sustainability is embedded into automotive product development. This experience gave me early insight into how engineering design decisions affect energy use, material efficiency, and long-term environmental impact.
