ABOUT AZAD ABDUS SALAM
I am an AI researcher currently working on enterprise-focused automation solutions at Wand AI, developing agentic systems built on large (vision) language models. Before joining Wand, I completed my PhD in August 2024 at UC Berkeley under the supervision of Prof. Ion Stoica. My research interests broadly lie in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning—specifically, designing intelligent autonomous agents and systems that help solve challenging real-world tasks. During my PhD, I focused on environment generation and curriculum learning methods that algorithmically generate diverse training environments (e.g, learning scenarios) to improve the generalization and sample efficiency of agents trained with reinforcement learning. I also worked on designing agentic workflows for multimodal LLM-based autonomous agents. I taught over ten undergraduate courses at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and UC Berkeley, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Programming (C, x86 Assembly, Python), and Introduction to Embedded Systems with Microcontrollers. My research has been published in top-tier AI conferences and journals and has received funding from Google Research (DeepMind). Homepage:
