About Ayush Choure
Computer Scientist with expertise in pure and applied mathematics and broad experience across ML, AI, algorithms, and systems. I have worked on a wide variety of e-commerce products, from advertising to warehouse optimization. At Microsoft, I have contributed extensively in the space of enterprise social networks. I actively advise start-ups. Currently on the board of Krowd Labs. I am part of the Applied Sciences and Engineering Group at MSR. I drive various efforts aimed at taking cutting edge research in computing into consumer facing products. I own engagements with multiple product teams, help our collaboration internalize the product design and strategy, and advice, design, and build the appropriate research-based features for these products. My early work at MS was broadly around automating automation - building systems to automate the engineering processes, enabling the next generation of large scale software building. These ranged from automated triage models, and risk analysis of outgoing software to performance regression forecasting. In recent years, the scale of software has grown far beyond tractable limits and it continues to accelerate. Any large software today,(say amazon.com, windows X, facebook.com, etc.) contains tens of millions of functions. With all their complex interactions, and the unavoidable uncertainty around post deployment behavior, we posit that AI assistance will prove essential in enabling engineers and scientists to keep building.I now focus exclusively on Office products (Teams in particular) to build AI/ML features which can augment user productivity. I drove the intelligent feed project (recommendation feeds) for Teams, and most recently have been building social relevance in search. In general, my interest has been to create new facets in relevance modelling in enterprise social networks. The two extreme ends of these have been topic modeling in compliant eyes-off data environment and graph embedding driven entity affinity models.
