About Ayush Agrawal
I first heard about the stock market in a newspaper in 2008 when it collapsed due to the Lehman Brothers crisis. At that time, I was only ten years old, and ever since, I became fascinated with the stock market. I sought proper guidance on how the markets work, and fortunately, I met someone who trades in commodity derivatives. In 2016, I finally started trading, and my first trade was in crude oil futures, where I made a 60% profit. I naively thought that the stock market was an easy way to make money, but I was proven wrong when, in the next six months, I lost all my capital. This incident left me frustrated and confused. Subsequently, an advisory firm contacted me and provided tips for trading. Surprisingly, I made good profits following their advice and felt invincible. I even planned to make big purchases like properties and luxury cars. However, my euphoria was short-lived as I went bankrupt within a week, unsure of what to do next. The heavy stress and financial burden even led to a week-long hospitalization due to sickness. Taking a break, I decided to learn on my own. I delved into more than 150 books on trading and investing, gradually gaining a better understanding of how the market works. Despite my efforts, I still faced losses and realized that merely relying on book knowledge was not enough to become a full-time professional trader. I turned to YouTube videos and various market courses, but again, I learned only a little and lost a lot of time, money, and effort. Then, I came across an interview with a trader who shared his journey of taking 17 years to become successful. I learned from his mistakes and the factors that helped him succeed. Applying those lessons, I realized that I was trading discretionary all the time, leading to losses. I also lacked a trading plan, proper risk management, and a structured trading system.
