ABOUT AYNA RANA

Kia ora! My name is Ayna I am a student in my penultimate year of law school at AUT who is genuinely curious about the law and the way it shapes people, communities, and society.My journey has been quite international. I was born in Australia, raised in Dubai (lived there for 12 whole years!), and have also lived in both Turkey and Pakistan. Growing up across different countries exposed me to many cultures, perspectives, and ways of thinking. I am very lucky to have seen the contrast between the most privileged and advanced countries against those which are still developing and third-world. This has been incredibly eye-opening for me, and motivated me even further to pursue a degree where I can see myself lending a hand to people in need.Throughout all my schooling years, I realised that I actually love studying. I enjoy learning about complex ideas and thinking through problems, whether that is through my coursework, discussions with classmates, or brainstorming in my own time. I am also a big reader outside of university, which probably explains why I enjoy law as much as I do.Alongside my studies I have gained a lot of experience in administrative roles and volunteering. These experiences have taught me the importance of organisation, teamwork, and supporting the people around you. I enjoy being involved in my community and contributing wherever I can.I am someone who is keen to learn, open to new opportunities, and always looking for ways to grow both personally and professionally.
