ABOUT AYESHA BATOOL
Resilience: it\'s not what I do, but who I am. I advise on the design and upkeep of sustainable, resilient, healthy, inclusive daylit places for people and planet. I am a daylighting scientist, and sustainability advisor, also a WELL Accredited Professional, licensed BREEAM Assessor for UK and International New Construction and Refurbishment projects and Net zero carbon and Life Cycle Analysis professional, while assisting in BREEAM and LEED AP roles. I draw on over 18 years of experience in developing programs and strategies for organisations to set and meet their sustainability goals. I have delivered sustainable design, training and research, in Pakistan, USA and UK. My doctoral research conducted at the University of Nottingham, UK, focused on lighting, daylighting and window views. My expertise is in human centric evidence based approach, including simulation tools including visual and thermal comfort analyses, and user surveys to assess building\'s environment performance and occupation comfort and perception.I love to work with and for people. Since 2007, I\'ve initiated projects on social tier of sustainability through women empowerment and healthy equity in remote villages in Pakistan. I designed, managed and executed the construction of a 55 bed (mother and child health focused) charity hospital - Bukhsh Hospital in the outskirts of Jhelum, Dina and Mirpur. I currently serve with MMBT as a founding board member and project director for Bukhsh Hospital.I have a deep-rooted passion for climate-responsive human-centric architecture. Having previously lived in one the most climate related disaster risk prone places in the world, I\'m invested in bringing the Nottingham\'s challenge to be carbon neutral by 2028 to a fruition, 2 years ahead of the RIBA 2030 Climate agenda target. To this end, I\'ve served on the RIBA East Midlands Education Group as the Research and Innovation Chair and as a committee member with the Nottingham and Derby Society of Architects. I\'ve also worked with the Nottingham and Derby Women in Architecture group - get in touch if this excites you too.
