ABOUT AYDAN SELEK SALETTI

I am a statistician and data scientist with over nine years of experience working in international and multicultural environments, specializing in agrifood trade statistics, data systems, and methodological development.I currently work in the Statistics Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), where I provide technical leadership for global trade data production, from data collection and validation to dissemination through corporate statistical platforms. I act as a focal point for trade statistics, overseeing complex data workflows, integrating new data sources and methodologies, and ensuring data quality and coherence across domains.My work sits at the intersection of statistics, data science, and IT systems. I design and maintain statistical pipelines, develop analytical tools and dashboards, and contribute to methodological guidance and international standards. I am also involved in capacity development activities and cross-agency collaboration, including contributions to international statistical manuals.Previously, I worked as an IT consultant for the European Commission (DG DIGIT and Eurostat), contributing to large-scale data and information systems projects.I am motivated by building robust, transparent, and policy-relevant data systems, and by bridging technical rigor with practical decision-making.
