About Ayanna George-Sharpe
I delve into what makes up numbers – garbage in – garbage out. Companies make decisions based on numbers. Since I’m a finance professional my mission is to make sure the numbers add up. Merging relevant aspects of multi-functional operations, processes, expenditures, people, revenue, and services will contribute to predictable outcomes and valid decisions. I consider the interaction of each component to come up with forecasts, systems, controls, and recommendations that guide profitability and transformational initiatives.I dislike chaos. By taking a broad view and then instilling interactive controls, the integrity of business practices for growth is assured. Nothing happens in a vacuum; therefore, my approach is to maintain open collaborative communications with all functions and departments. If there is no communication channel, I will usually create one.Because my career started in auditing with one of the big four accounting firms (PricewaterhouseCoopers in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago), I am attuned to connecting data so that information accurately aligns. Since relocating to the United States my work experience includes management positions within a Fortune 500 company. Throughout my career I have managed people and processes and had the good fortune to be involved in implementing organizational change, restoring order when industry upheaval ensued, participating in corporate acquisitions, and working closely with leadership.My active mind is always in search of how to make systems, people, and processes more effective.
