About Ayan Banerjee
I am a researcher at Arizona State University. As a member of IMPACT lab ASU, I conduct cutting edge research on safety assurance of autonomous systems that may also include systems with artificial intelligence. I am interested in use of AI in safety critical systems where the Ai has profound effect on the safety of humans. I work with several top medical schools such as Mayo Clinic, Phoenix Children Hospital, university of North Carolina Chapel Hill,Mt Sinai, University of Colorado Medical School, regulatory agencies such as Food and Drug Administration, and medical device companies such as Loop Diabetes to integrate AI in safety critical medical devices in a safe and interpretable manner. My work spans across several real world applications such as artificial pancreas for type 1 diabetes, coronary artery disease detection using AI, AI driven epilepsy care, and safe human in the loop autonomous cars. My research is funded through DARPA grants (FIRE and AMP), grants from Helmsley Charitable Funds, and Arizona New Economy Initiative.
