About Ayaan Pathan

Most people come to law looking for answers. I came with questions. Growing up in Deoli Tonk, a small town in Rajasthan, I often found myself drawn to the stories behind the headlines — not just what happened, but why it happened, who it affected, and how the system responded. That curiosity slowly turned into a conviction: the law isn’t just a subject; it’s a way of seeing the world — and, more importantly, a way of changing it. Now, as a second-year BBA LL.B.(Hons.) student at JECRC University, I’m shaping that conviction into capability. My focus lies in international law, constitutional law, women’s rights, and criminal justice — but my curiosity doesn’t stop at statutes. I explore legal systems through the lens of philosophy, literature, and public policy, believing that a well-rounded lawyer must first be a well-rounded human being. My academic journey has been backed by hands-on experiences in legal chambers and courts — from assisting with Supreme Court pleadings under an A.O.R. in Delhi, to understanding the mechanics of district court practice in my hometown. Along the way, I’ve researched everything from white-collar crime to procedural law, and helped draft petitions and agreements with real-world consequences. But what I value most is communication — not just in courtrooms, but across communities. As a debater, public speaker, and writer, I find meaning in words that connect, persuade, and inform. Whether it’s through moots, client counselling competitions, or managing outreach as the PR Head of our Moot Court Society, I aim to bring clarity to complexity and purpose to practice. In short, I’m building more than a legal resume — I’m building a legal mindset. One that’s flexible enough to handle global treaties and ground realities. One that respects the rule of law, but also the human stories that make those rules necessary. Outside the courtroom, I dive into philosophy to sharpen my reasoning, literature to expand my empathy, and public policy to understand the systems we seek to reform. I believe the best advocates don’t just win arguments — they build bridges. Between people and ideas. Between past injustices and future reforms. This is just the beginning of my journey, but I carry forward a simple belief: To truly practice law, you must first understand life. All of it. In all its complexity.
