About Andrew Waddoups

As an Associate Environmental Engineer in Burns & McDonnell’s Chesapeake office, I primarily focus on water and wastewater treatment plant design and construction. My project experience includes a wide range of civil engineering but a focus on wastewater pumping and treatment systems. I specialize in nutrient removal treatment system design using traditional and collaborative project delivery methods.Pumping systems and hydraulic modeling are another specialty I enjoy designing. My pump experience includes municipal distribution, collection, and treatment facility requirements as well as raw water pumping for water supply and storm water. If you have a water or wastewater project in need of a solution, I’d love to learn more and show you how Burns & McDonnell can help. Jun 2007 — Present · Chesapeake, VA, US

My role as a Senior Project Manager at Burns & McDonnell’s has given me an opportunity to expand on my specialized experience in municipal water and wastewater treatment facility design. I’ve worked with a number of treatment processes for both water and wastewater applications. Recent nutrient removal projects have incorporated a variety of different BNR processes such as MBBR fixed film, phased isolation, MBR, and more traditional configurations. I’m also well versed in creating multidisciplinary solutions to meet the modern functions of treatment and reuse facilities. Additional project experience includes wastewater plant design, utility investigations, master plans, pump stations, force mains, gravity interceptors and a variety of other water/wastewater installations. I’ve also performed construction management services for many of the designed projects including alternate delivery methods such as design-build.And when I’m not spending time at the office or at a project site, I’m committed to further investing in the engineering industry by supporting Engineers Without Borders. It’s a great way to not only give back to others across the globe, but also provide mentorship to younger engineers who are just beginning their careers.
