About Avi S.

Growing up in Seattle, Washington, I’ve long had an interest in how government works – or doesn’t work – and why. In college, I took my first steps into politics and public policy: running Rep. Frank Chopp’s re-election campaign and working with Christian Sinderman and NWP Consulting in the 2019, 2020, and 2021 cycles. Through these experiences, I engaged with countless constituents and dug into housing, healthcare, labor, energy, and transportation policy.After graduating from Brown University with a B.A. in history, I joined the Aspen Institute Germany in Berlin. In my role, I organized an initiative of the Berlin Process on EU enlargement with support from the German Federal Foreign Office. I also published papers with the German Council on Foreign Relations and the Aspen Institute Germany on the G7 and EU’s geoeconomic toolbox. After working with 120 advocacy organizations and think tanks for over one year, our policy proposals were presented to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and other European leaders.Now based in DC, I am thrilled to work directly with policymakers in Congress.
