About Avishaan Singh Sethi

16+ years of engineering and leadership expertise from spacesuit design at NASA to co-founding a startup. Awarded a National Institute of Health (NIH) and a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant at the intersection of machine learning and health-technology. I believe innovative solutions rely on the coordination of business, marketing, and sales as much as technical engineering ability. The only thing more satisfying than solving a difficult problem is leading an engineering team to solve a difficult problem no-one thought they could. As an alum of 12 accelerator programs, having the ability to reach out to a network of accomplished data scientists and software engineers gives me the ability to recruit talented engineers and discover novel technologies. Learning from and mentoring other alums and companies keeps me up to date on the newest product development methodologies.I believe good product execution requires the collaboration of a cross-functional team of designers, product managers, and engineers. When engineering innovative solutions, I use frameworks such as pragmatic programming, customer centric design, SDLC, lean UX, lean product development, test driven development, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and agile engineering.Competencies: Python, deep learning, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Swift, MongoDB, Tensorflow, Framer X, engineering team leadershipWhen I\'m not writing on my blog about cognitive biases and human psychology or about the latest and greatest deep learning technique, I\'m probably out salsa dancing.
