A global banking professional with more than 20 years of experience gained at systemically significant financial institutions, across business lines and lines of defence in both developed and developing markets. Gained diverse and enterprise-wide experience through a combination of independent second line of defense roles and front-line business roles. In the first line led client facing businesses across Corporate, Commercial and Private Banking delivering cumulative annual revenues of CA$780m, on a balance sheet of CA$9bn. In the second line, fulfilled roles in Compliance and Risk. A relationship builder that has led regulatory engagements across Africa, the UK, US and Canada. A values based, solution driven leader experienced at developing strategy, implementing transformational initiatives whilst leveraging deep governance and risk management expertise to achieve regulatory compliance. Participated on the Board of the Banking Association of South Africa (BASA) for 5 years helping the industry deliver its policy and regulatory advocacy objectives. An accomplished people leader with experience leading both large customer-facing teams as well as smaller specialized teams through change whilst maintaining engagement and performance. Chaired the Board of 2 regulated non-banking subsidiaries within the Barclays Africa Group. Passionate about the growth and development of young people and social entrepreneurship.
